Completed in 2018, this 3-storied residence is nestled in a prime sub-urban residential neighborhood. With the client’s desire for a lush tropical oasis, the U-shaped, transparent floor plan seamlessly flows out to 3 main garden courts. The strategic planning allows the public spaces open out to garden spaces on multiple sides with the aid of floor to ceiling glazed windows, thus creating an illusion of garden pavilions.
The minimal use of bright colors within the interior and simple yet elegant modern furniture reinforces the focus of the residence; the lush garden courts. The careful curation of timber, steel, glass and greenery throughout allows the residents to live closer to nature, amplified by the sound of water and the chirping birds.
Upon arrival, one is greeted by an expansive front court characterized by a shallow pond with active water features, which acts as a threshold between the road and the residence. The focal point of the house is the central garden-pool court, into which almost every internal space looks on. At the rear, another garden spaces buffers the residence from a neighborhood road.
Ground floor comprises of public spaces, a guest bedroom, and service spaces, while the first floor is dedicated to the family with four bedrooms and a family room. The second floor houses an office room, utility room and a cinema room. The spatial progression culminates at a roof pavilion that enjoys scenic views and golden sunsets.
